About Downtown Live

DowntownLive is the only comprehensive guide to downtown Tulsa. Whether it is a national chain or just a small local shop, we list it here. We provide as much information as possible about businesses downtown and we do so thanks to incredibly smart and attractive people like yourself.

DowntownLive was started by TulsaNow and a group of volunteers who were discouraged by the lack of useable guide for tourists and residents to the dining and entertainment downtown. Our guide was expanded to include all public facing (B2C) businesses within the Inner-Dispersal Loop like Hotels, Salons, Tag Agency, etc.

As we were planning this map we quickly discovered that while a few key districts exist downtown, it was not really divided up into "regions." To make our map, and downtown, easier to navigate, we took artistic license with the official districts and divided up downtown as follows:

  • Arena District - This area encompasses the new BOK Center, Convention Center, Civic Center and nearby businesses.
  • Blue Dome - Easily identified by the historic blue-domed art deco structure at the corner of 2nd and Elgin, the blue dome is known for it's locally-owned restaurants, shopping, nightlife and annual art festival.
  • Brady Village - The longest-standing "nightlife" in Tulsa is the area north of the tracks which includes the Cain's Ballroom and the Brady theater.
  • Cathedral Square - The southern edge of downtown is home to some of the finest religious architecture in North America as well as the main campus for Tulsa Community College.
  • Deco District - The tallest points in Oklahoma converge around main street providing the highest density of art-deco architecture in the city.
  • East End - The eastern edge of downtown which has long been the home of warehouses and industry but has been the prime traget for large-scale redevelopment in downtown.
  • Greenwood - Known as "black Wall street" this historic area in the northwest corner of downtown is the future home of the Tulsa Race Riot memorial as well as the new Driller's Stadium.
